When people think of “lemons,” Lisbon comes first in their mind. This is usually sold at grocery stores and supermarkets and is one of the most popular varieties.
● Native
Region: South Asia, but grown around the whole world.
● Water and Climate Requirement: This tree requires full sun heat and enough water. Significantly during its first year, you should water a Lisbon tree 3-4 times per week.
2. Eureka
These lemons look like “normal” lemons. They also contain few seeds, making them best for juicing.
● Native
Region: Many different regions of South Asia
● Water and Climate Requirement: Need Full sun and water on the dry side, soil-dependent
3. Bearss Lemons
This lemon is significantly related to the “Lisbon” variety. Its fruit measures about 3-4 inches across.
● Native
Region: The Bearss lemon tree was planted in 1892, discovered in the Bearss
grove near Lutz, Florida, around 1952.”
● Water and Climate Requirement: This variety is usual in a humid environment. If you plan to grow this variety in a drier climate, it will need more water.

Lemon Cultivation
Lemons are highly cultivated in many states in India. Here is the list from high production to low production of the states in India.
- Gujarat
- Andhra Pradesh
- Madhya Pradesh
- Karnataka
- Orissa
- Maharashtra
- Telangana
- Tamil Nadu
- Bihar
- Assam
SOIL
Lemons can be planted in all types of soils. Light soils having good drainage are fit for their farming. PH range of soil should be 5.5-7.5 for cultivation. They can also plant in lightly alkaline and acidic soils. Light loam well-drained soils are best for lemon farming.
LAND PREPARATION
Land should be ploughed well and levelled properly. Farmers mainly choose Kubota Tractor tractor to plough farms well. You should do planting on terraces and plain areas against slopes in hilly areas. High-density planting is also possible in such areas.
SOWING
Time of sowing
The best season for planting and sowing is July-August.
Spacing
It would help if you kept spacing between 4.5×4.5. It would be best if you dug pits of size 60×60×60cm for planting seedlings. 10Kg of Farmyard Manure and 500g of single superphosphate should be implemented to holes while growing.
Sowing Depth
It would help if you dug pits of size 60×60×60cm for planting seedlings.

IRRIGATION
Lemon plants require irrigation at regular periods. It is necessary for Flowering, Fruiting and proper plant growth. Excess watering may also lead to diseases like Root rot and collar rot. High-frequency irrigation is advantageous. Salty water is harmful to crop plants.
Farmers can prefer Massey Ferguson Tractor tractor to attach the implements with a tractor. It will help to irrigate your plants well and give you a satisfactory output.
HARVESTING
On achieving proper size, shape, and attractive colour having TSS to the Acid ratio of 12:1, now fruits are ready for harvest. Depending upon the various fruits are generally ready for harvesting in Mid- January to Mid-February. Do harvesting at the proper time, as too early or too late harvesting will give poor quality. For better output harvesting, framers mainly choose particular tools and a tractor as well. This tractor's bizarre quality gives them great satisfaction and also helps for productive farming.
