How To Build A Gaming Computer With A Low Budget Instead Of Buying A Gaming Laptop?

How to build a gaming computer with a low budget instead of buying a gaming laptop

A laptop is a portable computer that is designed to run on mains power. The internal components are housed in a mobile case, resembling an executive notebook or binder and an LCD screen built into it.

There are two main types of laptops: Intel CPUs (e.g., Core i3/i5/i7 ) and AMD CPUs (e.g., A6, A8, etc.).

Articles about building custom PCs vs buying laptops can be found here. So why not buy a gaming laptop?

I am saying that you should build your own gaming pc instead of buying a gaming laptop because there are three reasons I want to give below. So let's see the main reasons for building a gaming pc instead of buying a gaming laptop.

1. Cost-Effectiveness (Long Run)

Reason #1 to build your own gaming pc is cost-effectiveness( long run ). If you buy components separately, you can save more money than to purchase the whole system in one go. You can also install and upgrade new parts whenever you need them without any hassle of an opening case like in laptops. And if your budget is $1000 or less, then buying separate components will be a better option to choose as it gives more money to spend on each part. Because if you buy full system together, then for this price, I have listed here the top 3 best pre-built gaming laptops with a great processor, graphics card, and RAM.

2. Peripherals (Case, Monitor, etc.)

Reason #2 to build a gaming pc is peripherals. The main advantage of building your own custom PC is that you can replace your Laptop's case when it gets old or broken because most laptops come with one standard size & shape cases that are very small in size. And instead of purchasing a new pre-built system, if you build your own system from scratch, then you can make it as big as you want. And also if by chance, if your monitor goes bad by chance, you don't need to buy a whole new computer instead of just replacing the monitor and voila! There is another reason that I am going to tell that is not directly related to gaming, but it is a very important reason for everyone to build their own computer.

3. User Satisfaction

Reason #3: user satisfaction. If you buy a pre-built system, then there is always a slight possibility of getting hardware issues due to many reasons such as hard drive failure, vid card failure, etc. Also, many times even though you have chosen one of the best pieces in the current market (pre-build system), there might be some parts that are useless or less powerful for certain games rather than buying separate components and assembling the whole pc on your own so you can choose parts based on your need which means more fun while playing games.

If you are a gamer, then building your own gaming pc will be the best thing for you instead of buying pre-built systems that cost more than building them from scratch. Because it's not always about how much money you have inside your pocket but how much time & effort you want to put in to save some cash. And if the price is no issue, I would still suggest doing this as there is nothing called a perfect pre-built system( just read reviews ). So let's see what steps we need to follow to build a custom gaming PC with less budget and keep my audience, especially beginners, in mind. Also, don't worry, it's not hard to build them at all. There is a list of the best gaming pcs that you can build in less than $300 with good performance. This post is for beginners who want to know the step-by-step guide on how to make custom pcs. Good luck!

1 . Choose Parts 2 . Install parts 3. First boot ( BIOS, drivers, etc.) 4 . Enjoy :)

Step #1: Choosing Parts

Now it's time to choose components that will assemble into a computer and fulfill your gaming needs; let's see what we need: CPU (Processor) - Central Processing Unit or simply Processor is an electronic circuitry designed around the CPU core executes program instructions of user & operating systems.

You can choose one of these top 5 Best CPUs right now as they are currently the best in the market. CPU Cooler - Keeps your processor cool by dissipating heat generated from it with external components.

Motherboard - It's a main printed circuit board ( PCB ) that connects all of your parts and controls them as well. Ram( Random Access Memory) is a computer data storage device that stores the most frequently accessed data such as program instructions, recent files/documents, etc.

These days you don't need more than 4GB ram for gaming, and if you want to run multiple applications such as games, music players, or anything that uses memory, then 8GB ram should be enough. Hard Drive(HDD) - A hard drive is another essential part of a PC because everything runs based on its information.

You can install any Windows version on your PC without a hard drive, but you won't be able to use it. Graphics Card - After CPU, the graphics card is essential for gaming PC because video games are mostly played using GPU. If you want to boost your frame rate, don't go with an integrated graphics card and get at least HD 7750 or more excellent graphic cards.

Case - A case for pc doesn't need to be fancy as long as its functions correctly, then that's enough for me. You will also require these things below, which are not required but suggested by professionals: MoBo( Motherboard) Cooler - Keeps your motherboard cool By absorbing heat from it with external components such as heatsink.

Cpu Cooler: Keeps your Processor cool By absorbing heat from it with external components. PSU( Power Supply Unit) - It provides power to all of the parts inside a PC, and it's an essential part of a gaming pc. Ram ( Random Access Memory ) fan - A cooling system attached to ram modules makes them run cooler & faster. Hard Drive ( HDD ) fan - If you install more than one hard drive in your PC, buy an extra hard drive fan to keep drives running properly without getting damaged. First Step: Choose Parts Now it's time to choose your parts, go through my list and pick up whichever suits you best according to size, speed, design, etc. I have listed different options so that everyone can find something according to their needs and budget. The latest edition of Best gaming Pc's 2014 is $ 300 & UNDER.

Step #2: Install Parts:

Please take out the parts from their boxes that you have selected in the first step and assemble them following the motherboard installation guide.

Step #3: First Boot ( BIOS, Drivers, etc.)

Connect everything, turn on your computer and install OS(Operating system). I prefer installing Windows 7 64-bit because most games run well on it. Now install drivers for all of the hardware components you have assembled, such as Graphics card drivers, wifi drivers, etc. After doing this, now let's see if we can play games without lag or stuttering.

Step #4: Enjoy :)

Conclusion

To build a gaming PC for less than $300, you'll need to do your research and determine what parts are required.

The first step is choosing which components will be necessary; I've provided some suggestions in the input section of this article that should help you get started with building a custom computer instead of buying an expensive one. After picking out the right items, it's time to assemble them following the motherboard installation guide.

To increase performance, even more, make sure you install drivers for all of the hardware components before turning on your computer--this includes a graphics card driver if possible (most games run well on Windows 7 64-bit). Finally, enjoy playing video games without lag or stuttering!
